NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - PetSmart reached a settlement this week in a federal lawsuit where a customer slipped on dog poop in a store in Newport News.

Robbert Holloway, of Poquoson, alleged in his lawsuit that he badly injured his back, struck his head and knocked out four teeth when he slipped on dog poop in January 2009 at PetSmart.

He filed a $1 million negligence lawsuit against the company, saying that its manager should have protected him from a hazardous condition created when they allowed animals to defecate on the floor.
