NORFOLK Va. - The Norfolk Fire Department is working to find the cause of a small fire in Scott Hall on the Norfolk State University campus.

Chief Worley with the Norfolk Fire Department tells WAVY.com that the fire was contained to a bathroom stall within the dorm. The small fire appears to have been intentionally set.

There is only minor smoke damage to the bathroom stall itself and no damage to the rest of Scott Hall, there are no reported injuries.

A number of students were evacuated from the dorm to prevent injuries.

Chief Worley says that there were a number of fire alarms that had gone off overnight, and the cause of those alarms is under investigation.

The investigation is on-going and we will continue to bring you updates as they become available.
