JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The vacant Arkansas State University system president's post has drawn two applicants.
ASU spokesman Tom Moore told The Jonesboro Sun that Norfolk State University provost and chief operating officer Yatish Shah and Jacksonville (Ala.) State University associate vice president for academic affairs and professor Joe Delap have applied.
Former President Les Wyatt resigned effective June 30. Robert Potts is serving as acting system president.
ASU's Presidential Search Advisory Committee is to review the first set of applications Sept. 30.
University officials hope to have a new president in place by January.
Consultant Tom Meredith is being paid $45,000 and up to $10,000 in expenses by the private ASU Foundation to assist in the search.
