NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A former Eastern Virginia Medical School employee was convicted of sperm donation fraud Monday morning.
Over the course of seven years, Adrienne Boothe stole more than $150,000.
Boothe conducted contraceptive research at EVMS. As part of the research, which received annual grant money from USAID , the program collected sperm donations for analysis. Donors received $30 per donation.
From January 2003 until January 2010, Boothe falsified weekly donor reimbursement claims and kept the cash for herself.
Boothe is scheduled to be sentenced on December 13.
