Man alerts driver that car was on fire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A good Samaritan is credited with alerting a driver that her car was on fire.

According to Battalion Chief Julian Williamson, the man spotted flames coming from the back of the vehicle and got the driver's attention. She pulled over in the 3000 block of Westminster Avenue and both she and her female passenger got out of the car before it became engulfed in flames.

Fire units arrived a couple minutes later to put out the fire.

There are no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
