NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police say a man who refused to come out of a residence along West Little Creek Road Friday has been removed from the home.

Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department told WAVY.com officers received a call for a domestic related assault and sexual assault at 3:50 a.m. in the 200 block of West Little Creek Road.

The female victim and suspect know each other and the victim fled the home, Parker-Chesson said. She added officers responded to the scene and the victim was transported to DePaul Hospital.

According to Parker-Chesson, search and arrest warrants were being secured for the suspect inside the home who refused to come out. Negotiators were on scene awaiting those warrants.

Around 7:30 a.m., the suspect was removed from the home.

WAVY News crews were on scene since 5:30 a.m. and observed a SWAT team. There was a heavy police presence in the area.
