NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Residents of Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood are on edge following 10 burglaries that have been reported in the last two weeks.
The Ghent Neighborhood League posted crime alerts around the area, warning neighbors to be on the lookout for suspicious activity or people.
The crime alert states an older model, green Mitsubishi Galant has been seen near some of the burglaries.
Bittu Kuruvilla, whose apartment was burglarized, told WAVY.com, "We have to be careful and take care of our homes. It's easy to kind of ignore locking doors and making sure that you have adequate fortification in you homes. It is usually a pretty safe neighborhood but apparently, you know, we can't ignore these fact."
