Sailor found dead on USS Enterprise

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A sailor was found dead aboard USS Enterprise Friday.

Master Chief Petty Officer Richard J. Kessler, 47, of Gulfport, Fla., was found dead in his berthing compartment, according to a press release from the Department of Defense. No other details on Kessler's death have been released.

Kessler was assigned to USS Enterprise as a logistics specialist, according to the release.

USS Enterprise is currently deployed to the Fifth Fleet and is conducting operations to support Operation Enduring Freedom.
