NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - VDOT held a public meeting Tuesday evening to discuss plans for future changes at the HRBT and get public comment on the proposals.

Wednesday's public hearing lasted from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Granby High School in Norfolk.

There will be a second public session in Hampton Thursday from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea School. The public can also fill out a comment form online.

The Federal Highway Administration requires VDOT to collect public input on federally funded projects. The hearings are part of the "Environmental Impact Study," required by the FHA.

Inside the hearing, drivers viewed exhibits with various alternatives, including a "no build" option, a widening project and smaller improvements. Next to each option, VDOT listed the projected environmental impact.
