NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A suspicious object spotted on I-564 Tuesday morning was most likely something that fell off a truck, according to a Norfolk Fire Department spokesman.

The scene has been cleared and traffic is moving again.

I-564 in Norfolk was closed in both directions for a while as police investigated the suspicous device.

Norfolk Fire Chief Harry Worley told WAVY.com Norfolk Fire and EMS responded to a call from an off-duty Explosive Ordnance Device expert who thought he saw some type of explosive on the roadway.

It was determined to not be an explosive device, Worley said.
