NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say Raymond Evans was attempting to cross Norview Avenue in Norfolk Wednesday night, when he was struck and killed by a truck.

Chris Amos with the Norfolk Police Department said the accident happened at around 8:20 p.m., in front of councilman Paul Riddick's funeral home. This is the Five Points neighborhood.

Evans, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amos said the driver of the truck did stop at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
