Man injured crossing the street

Pedestrian hit by van, no charges filed

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A man was transported to the hospital after being hit by a van in Norfolk Friday night.

Police said the accident happened at 7:41 p.m. at Virginia Beach Boulevard and Salter Street in the Young Terrace section of the city.

Officers said the pedestrian made an attempt to cross the street outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a van.

He was transported to the hospital with a broken arm and elbow.

Police said the pedestrian was not impaired in any way and will not be charged.

The driver of the van will not be charged either.
