NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - One person was transported to hospital for injuries after an apartment fire on Gabriel Drive in Norfolk.
The extent of the injuries were not known immediately known, according to Fire Department spokesman Harry Worley. Worley said the injuries could have been sustained because the person might have jumped from a window in the first floor apartment. One other person suffered minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.
Crews responded to two calls of a fire that came in at around 5:02 a.m. One call came from a resident at the apartment building and the other came from a passerby who gave the wrong address. Two crews were dispatched, with one going to an incorrect address from the second caller, said Worley.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
