ODU student pleads guilty

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - According to Amanda Howie with the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorneys' Office former Old Dominion University student Daniel A. Reich plead guilty to four felony charges on July 13.

The 21-year-old's was charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell, distribute, etc., transporting controlled substances into Virginia, and possession of controlled substances, sell distribute marijuana..

Police were led to Reich's when a package mailed to him from California caught the attention of a police dog; inside police found six pounds of marijuana. Undercover officers delivered it and arrested Reich.

A search of Reich's home off west 43rd Street turned up mushrooms, LSD and marijuana. They also arrested and charged a second suspect, David M. Drewry. Drewry also attended ODU.

Drewry was charged with possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possess firearm while in possession of drugs. His preliminary hearing was held July 12 and his charges were sent to a Grand Jury.

Reich is scheduled to be sentenced on October 28.

Michael Hayes, the third defendant in the case, plead guilty on July 5.
