NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Old Dominion University is hosting a discussion about climate change and the U.S. Navy on Thursday.
An oceanographer and navigator of the Navy will speak about sea level rise. A question and answer segment will follow, moderated by a public radio host, according to a press release from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
On Tuesday , ODU announced that it is aiming to become a national hub for research, teaching, and expertise in rising sea levels related to climate change.
The goal of the presentation is to educate and engage citizens on important environmental issues facing Hampton Roads and the nation.
The discussion will be held in the Big Blue Room at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 2.
