NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Bring on the Tigers!

The Norfolk State University men's basketball team received a No. 15 seed Sunday night. They will play No. 2 seed Missouri in the West Regional of the NCAA tournament.

This year marks the first time in school history the team has earned a NCAA bid.

The team joined fans at NSU's new student center to watch the selection show Sunday night. The student center erupted in cheers when NSU saw the school's name on national television.

"We really might pull the upset, whether they're hot or cold," said one fan after seeing the matchup with Missouri.

The Spartans will take on the Tigers at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., Friday, giving them four days to rest and prepare for the big game.

With a record of 25-9, the Spartans won their first-ever MEAC championship and secured their first berth in the NCAA Tournament with a 73-70 win over Bethune-Cookman in Saturday's conference title game.

Michigan State is the No. 1 seed in the West Regional.
