NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Budget concerns in Norfolk may stop red light cameras from going up by summer.
City Council approved the red light cameras in December, and the cameras capture it all.
Because of a camera in Denver, police knew a city bus ran a red light, t-boning a car and killing two people.
Most drivers WAVY News 10 talked to after Norfolk made the announcement gave the red light cameras the green light.
"I think it's great. I think it's great. We need to abide by the rules or people get killed, and I think it's a great idea to have those lights up there," said driver Art Harvey.
The cameras were supposed to go up in four locations, but the city asked police to come up with another four spots.
However, now the project is on hold.
