NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Norfolk firefighter died while on duty Monday morning.
Fire department spokesman Chief Harry Worley says fellow firefighters found 54-year-old Jonathan Myers unconscious at the station.
According to Worley, crews found Myers on the floor of a bunk room after he didn't respond to a search for him. CPR was immediately started, then Myers was transported to DePaul Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Worley said.
Worley added that Norfolk Fire and Rescue is in a state of mourning.
Myers was a 20-year member of Norfolk Fire-Rescue.
