NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The cause of a fire that injured two young girls and resulted in the arrest of their mother on neglect charges has been ruled undetermined.
Battalion Chief Julian Williamson with Norfolk Fire and Rescue said the fire in the 1000 block of Mahone Avenue on Feb. 20 does not appear to be suspicious or that of arson.
The girls were found unconscious in the home and transported to a hospital. The girls' mother, Precious Wright was later charged with two counts of felony child neglect.
According to Williamson, there was extensive fire damage on the first floor
