NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Two men were sentenced in court Thursday for their roles in a double shooting that killed 32-year-old Dekar Jones.

According to Amanda Howie with the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, Rashed Amard Deering will serve a total of seven years and two months on charges of discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, possession of firearm by convicted felon and involuntary manslaughter.

Jayquon Terrell Norman will spend eight years in prison on the same charges.

Charges were dropped against the third suspect, Marcus Deering, last summer following a jury trial.

Jones was killed June 18, 2011 in the 1700 block of Selden Avenue. Police said a physical confrontation led to the shooting.
