Fallen tree blocks Norfolk road

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A large tree fell across Kempsville Road Wednesday and landed on an occupied car.

According to Capt. Mike Hicks with Norfolk Fire and Rescue, the tree blocked Kempsville Road in both directions from Virginia Beach Boulevard and Airway Lane.

The driver of the vehicle struck by the tree was injured, but not transported to a hospital.

The road reopened just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
