NOFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk police are on the scene of a shooting in which the suspect shot himself.
Officers were called to the area of Tidewater Drive and Galdstone Road Monday afternoon. When they arrived, officers saw a man outside with a gun pointed at his head, police spokesman Chris Amos said. The man then began to wave the gun around.
Amos said "a shot or shots" were fired, and the suspect went down. Initially, it was not clear whether the man or police fired the shot that hit him.
Amos later confirmed that the shot was indeed self-inflicted.
The suspect's condition is not known at this time.
