NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A local non-profit organization is in the running for a grant and needs help generating the votes needed.
VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads has been selected as one of four non-profit organizations across the country eligible for the $7,000 Green Spaces Make Great Places grant. The grant will be provided by The Toro Company, known for landscaping.
“VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads will use the funds to engage area youth in environmental projects across Hampton Roads as part of its Global Youth Service Day which is held every year in April during National Volunteer Week,” Kate Meechan, Corporate Relations Manager for VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads said.
The Toro Company is hosting a video voting contest on Facebook and the winner will receive the grant. Facebook users can vote once each day for one of the four candidates.
The contest will end at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Dec. 14 and the VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads video is the one with green bubbles at the bottom.
