NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk firefighters have cleared the scene of a propane gas leak on West 21st Street that closed businesses and forced people from their homes Saturday afternoon.
A 100 gallon propane tank began leaking in front of Gail's Wigs and Things around 3 p.m. Crews burned off the fuel that was escaping from the tank, according to a fire department spokesman.
West 21st Street, which was closed between Granby St. and Omohundro Avenue, has since reopened. Fire officials have allowed residents to return to their homes and businesses to reopen.
The leak caused no injuries.
