NORFOLK,VA (WAVY) - Fire crews saved two cats during an early morning fire at a Norfolk home Monday, but are still looking for six others.
Capt. Mike Hicks with Norfolk Fire and Rescue told WAVY.com three residents and eight cats resided in the home located in the 9500 block of Inlet Road. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.
All residents and two of the cats were rescued. Six cats are still missing.
A firefighter sustained a sprained ankle while trying to put the fire out, but was not transported to the hospital.
The 9500 block of Inlet Road was closed while fire investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.
