NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The president of Eastern Virginia Medical School plans to step down April 15.
The school announced Harry T. Lester's decision on Thursday in a news release. Lester will be succeeded by dean and provost Richard Homan, who will continue to serve in those roles.
Lester had served as president since 2005. The school says he leaves it on the strongest financial and education footing in its 40-year history.
Lester says he's not ready to stop working yet. But he hasn't decided on what his next challenge will be.
