NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Potential new business leaders spent 48 hours brainstorming this weekend at "Start Norfolk."
Start Norfolk brings together entrepreneurs, engineers, and designers with the goal of building a viable start up business in just one weekend.
The event began Fridy at the Innovation Research Park at Old Dominion University.
Contestants pitched their ideas to a panel of judges Friday and now they'll spend the weekend in teams that were formed around the winning projects.
Organizers say the program is a catalyst for local innovation.
Teams presented their finished projects to judges on Sunday. The winning team received a package that included cash, rent, and other services to be used toward launching their actual project.
