NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police Department's Assistant Police Chief Sharon Chamberlin has announced last week she is retiring after 38 years on the job.

Chamberlin worked as acting police chief after former Chief Bruce Marquis stepped down.

City manager Marcus Jones gave the top job to Capt. Mike Goldsmith in June.
