NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Portsmouth man will spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in the death of two brothers during a home invasion.

Jamyia Rashad Brother, 24, was convicted in the 2007 deaths of John and Ronald Trollinger.

According to court documents, on Dec. 15, 2007, Brothers and another member of the Bounty Hunter Bloods/Nine Tech Gangsters (BHB/NTG) broke into a Portsmouth home. During the robbery, Brothers shot John Trollinger in the chest and back of the head and Ronald Trollinger in the chest, killing them both.

Brothers also shot a third individual in the abdomen, who then played dead and was able to survive his wounds. Two other people escaped the house through a back door.

After the shootings, Brothers and the other BHB/NTG gang member fled the scene.

Brother was also sentenced on a possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence charge.
