NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Within the past two weeks, a border enforcement agency has seized approximately 35 kilograms of cocaine at the Port of Norfolk in two separate incidents.

According to Louis Rossero with the Customs and Border Protection Agency in Norfolk, one seizure of 32 kg occurred July 27 off of a vessel arriving into Norfolk. Rossero says the cocaine in this incident is believed to have come from Colombia and has a street value of $1 million. None of the crew members were involved and no arrests were made, according to Rossero.

The second incident occurred Aug. 4 when two individuals, both non-crew members, were arrested. Three kg of cocaine were found.

The Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) is comprised of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Coast Guard and other law enforcement partners.
