NORFOLK, Va. - Preliminary estimates indicate that storm damage in Norfolk could reach as high as $10 million, according to a city spokesperson.
The recent Nor'easter, described as one of the worst storms in Norfolk's history ravaged the low-lying, tidal areas of the city. Ocean View was one of the areas hardest hit.
The combination of torrential rains and a series of above average high tides combined to produce a devastating blow to the city's 7.5 miles of beaches.
An accurate assessment of damages will be done Friday, November 20 when a city task force tours the beaches of Ocean View.
