NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - It was a dream of many Willoughby residents to see the Ocean Dream apartment building disappear and on Wednesday morning that became a reality.

A Norfolk spokesperson told WAVY.com the demolition of the Norfolk building is also a victory for the Housing Authority, which purchased the property at 1128 Little Bay Avenue last year.

The Ocean Dream demolition is part of the Willoughby neighborhood development plan.

Housing Authority members say townhomes or single family homes will likely be built on the land.
