NORFOLK, Va. - Vandals hit synagogues and streets with anti-Semitic graffiti and homosexual slurs overnight Saturday, police said.
Police received calls of the vandalism around 7am. They found graffiti at several locations, including the 700 block of Maury Avenue, 400 block of Spotswood Avenue, 7000 Granby Street, 1400 block of Colley Avenue and the 42nd block of Shirley Avenue.
Police have made no arrests and said they had no suspects. Investigators from the department's Criminal Intelligence Unit said they do not know if the acts of vandalism are related.
Police and the Anti-Defamation League said the anti-Semitic slurs could stem from the upcoming anniversary of Aldolf Hitler's birthday. There was no report of any items being stolen at any of the locations
