NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police is asking for the public's help in identify a suspect involved in a series of robberies.
Since November 2011, Newport News Police say there have been six robberies from different discount and fast food businesses.
Police describe the suspect as a black man between 5'2" and 5'8", 150 to 170 pounds, usually wearing a mask, fake beard or sunglasses with dark or black clothing and a hooded jacket. Police say the man usually enters the business just before closing and calmly hold the employees at gunpoint and orders them to remove money from registers or safe.

Hampton Police are also interested in these cases as they report similar robberies in Hampton. Since December 2011, 11 businesses have been robbed by a man matching a similar description.
