NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A body found in a backyard off Grace Drive Saturday morning could belong to a burglary suspect who cut himself on glass while breaking into a nearby restaurant.

Investigators told WAVY.com that sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning at 8 a.m. someone burglarized La Pena Horeb restaurant at 13663 Warwick Boulevard by breaking one of the business's windows.

Around 8:01 a.m., a homeowner in the 100 block of Grace Drive called police saying that there was an unknown man lying in the backyard of her home. Medics arrived at the home and pronounced the man dead.

A police spokesman told WAVY.com that physical evidence suggests the two incidents are related.

The body has not been identified. Police have not said how the man died or what evidence leads them to believe the two incidents are connected.
