NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) broke ground for the tenth home it is building with Habitat Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg.
The traditional ranch-style home will be located at 1045 29th Street in Newport News, a news release from Huntington Ingalls Industries said.
"Our shipbuilders take pride and ownership in giving back to the community, and it is an honor to give to such a worthy cause," said Danny Hunley, NNS vice president of operations.
At about 1,300 square feet, the house will have three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Plans are to turn over the keys to the future homeowners in spring 2012.
