NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police say an argument inside a gas station turned into a double shooting Wednesday night. Officers responded to the 4700 block of Marshall Avenue just after 9 p.m.
Police say the two men got into an argument while inside the gas station, pulled guns on each other and fired. One of the gunmen was shot in the abdomen while the other was not injured.
One of the six customers inside the store was shot in the leg. Bruce Christopher Tyson, 22, of the 4600 block of Madison Avenue was treated and released from the hospital for his leg wound.
The victim with the abdomen wound fled the scene, and someone in a nearby neighborhood called police. Police say Jazz Kwame Grant, 22, of the 100 block of Greenbriar Avenue in Hampton, remains in fair condition at a local hospital.
Police say they have interviewed the second person involved in the shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time.
