NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Yorktown man was found unconscious after a boom truck overturned in Newport News Friday.
The accident happened at 1:53 p.m. in the rear of Mike's Place, located in the Warwick Village Shopping Center at 440 Export Circle.
When emergency crews arrived to the scene they found a CNR Construction boom truck overturned with the bucket extended.
The victim, a 60-year-old man, was found unconscious with a head injury. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A preliminary investigation showed that the supports on the boom truck were not in place when the bucket was extended.
