NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police have identified a suspect in Tuesday morning's triple shooting.
Tyrek Laquan Allen, 19, of 700 Water Front Circle, is facing three counts of malicious wounding, as well as three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Officers were called out to 33rd Street and Marshall Avenue just before noon. They arrived to find two Newport News men and one Hampton woman all suffering from what appeared to be non life-threatening gunshot wounds.
All three victims were taken to a local hospital.
The female victim appears to have been an innocent victim, according to police spokesman Harold Eley. According to police, the 49-year-old woman was shot in the back.
The 19-year-old male victim was shot in the upper legs, and the 20-year-old male received a gunshot wound to the foot.
There is no word on motive at this time.
Huntington Middle School was put on lockdown for about 10 minutes immediately following the shooting.
If you know where police can find Allen, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
