Newport News Asst. Fire Chief leaving

Newport News Assistant Fire Chief C. Creig Moore took a new job in West Virginia. He will start his new job as Huntington's Fire Chief on November 1st.

Moore joined the Newport News Fire Department in 1979. He was recently promoted to Newport News Assistant Fire Chief and served as the Deputy Coordinator of Emergency Management.

Moore was a member of the Virginia Task Force Urban Search and Rescue Team. He was deployed to significant emergency events including the United States Pentagon in Washington, D.C., following the 9/11 attacks. He also went to Mississippi to assist with the recovery operations following Hurricane Katrina.
