NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police are asking for help in locating a missing man believed to be endangered.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department said officers were searching for Kelsey Jamere Wharton, 25. Wharton has not had any contact with his family since Dec. 4.
Wharton was a resident at the Hilton Adult Home and uses Hampton Roads Transit buses for transportation. He takes medication for mental reasons and may not have that medication with him.
Police believe he may try to make his way to Danville to see family, where he was raised. Thurston said Wharton also said he would like to visit New York.
Wharton is 5’10” and weighs about 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Newport News Police Department at 757-247-2500.
