NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - The Jefferson Lab in Newport News will test its tornado warning siren Friday morning.

The siren will sound at 10:30 a.m. Depending on the weather, anyone within a 1.5-mile radius of the lab may hear the siren, which could last between 30 seconds to three minutes.

The lab uses the siren to alert outdoor workers at the lab of inclement weather and to take cover.
