NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Liebherr Mining Equipment will expand operations in Newport News and Hampton, creating more than 150 jobs.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning in Newport News. The company will invest $45.4 million for the expansion, which is expected to create 174 new jobs over a two-year period.
"[We need] welders, electricians, mechanics to assemble trucks and painters. The major jobs besides those ones for our logistics center is that we need warehouse [workers]," President of Liebherr Joachim Janka said.
Liebherr Mining Equipment is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment.
