Burglary prompts CNU alert

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A burglary prompted officials at Christopher Newport University to issue an alert Wednesday morning.

The following alert was sent by officials before noon:

“NN PD informed NU PD that a burglary just occurred on Peters Lane. Suspect fled area. Avoid area of Peters Lane until further notice.”

Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com the burglary occurred just before 11:15 a.m. Officers responded and do have two people detained.

No on was injured and no further information was immediately available.
