Mom sentenced for prostitution of child

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A Newport News mother was sentenced in Hampton Friday for prostituting her 10-year-old daughter in exchange for drugs.
The woman, who WAVY.com is not identifying to protect the child's identity, was sentenced to a total of 72 years with 49 suspended. She was guilty of Conspiracy to Commit Forcible Sodomy, Forcible Sodomy, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Prostitution by Parent, Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Leslie Siman-Tov told WAVY.com.
The case dates back to May 2007.
In September 2009, a jury found 59-year-old Joe Slade guilty of Conspiracy of Sodomy, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Forcible Sodomy. Slade was convicted for giving the woman cocaine in exchange for sex with her daughter.
