NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A 22-year-old Hampton man died Saturday night after two gunmen shot him multiple times in the East End of Newport News, according to police.
Newport News Police Department spokeswoman Holly McPherson said the gunmen shot the victim in the 700 block of 36th Street around 9:36 p.m. Medics took him to a local hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the torso, legs and arms.
Doctors pronounced him dead Sunday around 4:30 a.m., McPherson said. He has been identified as Darntrell Marque Bell.
Homicide detectives have obtained warrants for Tyrek LaQuann Allen, 19, of the 700 block of Waterfront Circle, for murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
