NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - MacArthur on Ice officially opened for the season Saturday in Norfolk.
WAVY News 10 and sister station Fox 43 are sponsors of the event. WAVY personalities including Tom Schaad, Nicole Livas, Alveta Ewell, and David Culver joined to show off their skating skills.
The 7,200 square foot rink will be open through January 21. The cost is $6 per person and $5 for skate rentals. A $2 discount on the admission price is offered to anyone with a valid military I.D.
A festive Winter Carnival also opened as the newest addition to the holiday fun at MacArthur Center. Located outside next to MacArthur On Ice, the Winter Carnival features family-friendly rides including a 55-foot, LED-lit Ferris wheel, a 20-foot tall fun slide for big and little kids and a host of holiday fun rides like the Spinning Monkeys, a kiddie roller coaster and the Rio Grande Train for the youngsters.
Ticket prices are $1 for a single ticket, $10 for 11 tickets, $20 for 25 tickets and $35 for 50 tickets.
