DNA helps police nab larceny suspect

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Police say a serial larceny suspect left behind evidence at the scene - his blood.

27-year-old Christopher Babb is in jail on eight charges of Grand Larceny.

During the month of June 2009, Virginia Beach police responded to numerous reports for larcenies from motor vehicles, including several at the Reflections and Waterfront Apartment complexes.

In two of the cases, police say detectives collected blood from cuts the suspect received from breaking car windows. Through forensic testing, police determined the DNA matched Babb.

Detectives learned that Babb was in the Norfolk City Jail on unrelated charges. On November 1, 2009, Virginia Beach police charged Babb for the larcenies.
