VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach child was hit by an SUV while waiting for the school bus and police are still searching for the driver who hit him.
It was 8:15 a.m. Monday. The 11-year-old Great Neck Middle School student was sitting on the curb at the corner of Greenwell Road and Delmar Drive, when a large red SUV ran the stop sign, hit him, then kept going, according to police.
Police spokesperson Adam Bernstein says the child was taken to the hospital with leg fractures and road rash.
Officers searched the neighborhood and spoke to residents, but did not find the driver.
