Eastern Shore fire crews were busy battling a massive fire at the Captain's Deck & Restaurant, located at 7120 Lankford Hwy. in Nassawadox early Tuesday morning.

Several fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene at around 4:45 a.m., including: Nassawadox, Exmore, Eastville, Cape Charles Fire and Rescue, Northampton EMS, Cheriton, Painter, Wachapreague and Melfa.

Firefighters evacuated a nearby hotel as a precaution in case the fire spread.

In the viewer-submitted photos to the left of this story you can see the fire erupting through the restaurant's roof. Fire crews say the restaurant was fully engulfed within 30 minutes.

WAVY News 10 has a crew headed to the scene and will bring you the very latest as more information becomes available.

There's no word yet on any possible injuries or what may have caused the fire.

The restaurant's owners say they are going to rebuild.

Look for updates on-air and online.
